        Trip to Charleston, SC & Savannah, GA

 We went to Charleston, SC & Savannah, GA with
the Hollens of West Virginia April 19-23.  It is
the Hollens' first time to visit there.
We had a blast time and brought good memories home...

Beautiful & popular Forsyth Park in Savannah










 Statues of Haitian Soldiers in the Revolutionary War's bloody
siege of Savannah at Franklin Square.
They fought and died to save America with independence.





"Statue of Waving Girl" in Savannah. It honors
a bittersweet life of Florence Martus, Savannah's legendary.
She waved her handkerchief at all times(days & nights) to greet
the ships that entered and left the Port of Savannah for 44 years.


 

Camilla & Bill, visiting Hunley Museum, the World's
First Successful Combat Submarine in North Charleston


Old St. Matthew's Lutheran Church at Bethany Cemetery in
North Charleston.  It is close to Magnolia Cemetery where
the Hunley crew was buried.
